From discovering that some students were born in the same hospital just days apart in another state, to seeing quiet personalities grow bold in the presence of new friends, the fall was full of small moments that made a big impact.
Somehow the fall session is already over and we have barely had time to pause and truly reflect, but what so boldly stood out throughout this session was the connections and community formed between students.
We do our best to thoughtfully pair students and horses, and to team kids up in ways we think will bring out the best in each of them. But the real magic happens when those pairings turn into genuine friendships. As the weeks passed the laughter grew louder and a real sense of community settled amongst the groups. The last week was full of bittersweet goodbyes for the winter but excitement as families connected and students expressed their excitement to reconvene with one another in the spring.
Beyond human connections, students often form strong bonds with a single horse and this session brought change. As we introduced some new pairings, we witnessed courage, openness, and the beauty that comes from connecting in new ways.
