Windhorse is currently offered in six-week small class sessions in the spring and fall and in week-long summer camps. The program is progressive and all participants must start in the basic horsemanship class. Students who stay in the program will be taught horse/barn management and riding skills and will also mentor and support students in the basic classes.
School-year classes are two hours and take place on Saturdays. Windhorse offers a week-long summer camp in June in partnership with Montana State University’s Equine Science Program, and two summer camps in July in partnership with MSU and the Gallatin Valley YMCA. Each six-week session and summer camp is $300; needs based scholarships are available. To sign-up for the program, participants must complete an application and questionnaire.
